Rei didn’t like him.
The awkward, slightly cowering form of the male liquor store attendant irritated him for a reason he wasn’t sure about.
The store had a strange presence hovering in and around it. At first he thought it was because of the female elf, but even her fiery aura didn’t account for all the shadows that seemed to concentrate in this location.
Predator monsters like vampires, werewolves and much worse darken the environment with their presence. No offence meant to Camilla.
The door opens and three more people enter, the white haired one catches Rei’s attention as he makes a determined bee line for the ‘delicate little flower’.
Strangely the dark feeling that hovers around the store shrinks. Normally this would be good, but instead of fading the shadows seemed to amalgamate.
Rei looked closer at the newcomers narrowing his eyes and sharpening his senses. The blonde one was strange; a dark aura shimmering around him, but it was more of a dark purple than black. Skipping over the blazing orange of the cat-eared female, he settled his gaze on the pale haired young human.
The flicker of gray surprised him, but the overlapping blue and green nearly overwhelmed his senses. The green curling out and around the taller male as the shorter one hugged him.
Huh. Unconditional love; extremely strong as well. Rei stared, one eyebrow creeping up as he wondered vaguely how the lanky dandelion managed that. Flickering his heightened senses towards said dandelion he stopped dead.
Jet black tendrils of aspect curled out and around the store clerk and twined so tightly around the younger male that Rei had no idea how he couldn’t feel it. The pure feeling of committed protectiveness, or maybe possessiveness, was suffocating.
Unnerved, but unwilling to show it, Rei forced himself to laugh at the mention of ghosts.
Maybe a little to hard judging by Liam’s unimpressed look.
A little more small talk and Rei made his excuses to leave, tossing it over his shoulder as he was already walking out the door.
His ear twitched as he heard Liam and Gabry saying their goodbyes. Rei knew he didn’t have long before they came out to pull himself together.
Leaning against the wall outside Rei breathed in deeply. So the little flower turns out to be a Venus fly trap.
Hopefully the kid wont become it’s meal.
Shaking his head to clear it, the Nai’ka stands up straight. Glancing through the door at the tall entity behind the counter as the two hunters exit, Rei mentally nods.
He would keep an eye on that one. There was no way that clerk was human.
